How To Get Started
There are many ways you can strengthen the marketing for your small business. Below are a few free resources to get you started. I have no affiliation with any of these resources - I genuinely recommend them all.
Free Marketing Resources
Hubspot is an incredible company, with amazing resources for people who want to learn how to drive results from their marketing - and they offer so much for free! Check out Hubspot.com or go straight to Hubspot Academy for free courses.
If you have a Google Ads account, take Google’s free course, visit Google Support, or binge watch these helpful YouTube videos.
Visit your local library. Talk to the librarians about the best books and other resources that can help you stay on top of your marketing.
One book I recommend is “They Ask, You Answer” by Marcus Sheridan.
Other Business Resources
Getting Started: If you are just beginning your small business journey, consider checking out your local Small Business Development Center. They offer many free services, including advising.
Project Management: Creating your own business means that you’ll have to be organized. My recommendation would be to use a project management tool to help you stay on top of it all. I have used Trello for years. The best part? It has a free tier.
General Marketing Advice
When starting your website, consider looking into accessibility and WCAG guidelines. Making sure your website is accessible ensures that people of all abilities can have access to your content.
It’s OK to make mistakes! You are human; don’t be so hard on yourself. It is all about how you move forward from it. Take responsibility, be transparent, exercise kindness, and move on.
